I have a cold.
Ironically, this coincides with the third week of our new “more fruits and veggies” push here at home. Not only am I competing in a P.O.O.P group, but we are trying to eat healthier in general. That said, my head hurts and I need a nap.
Rereading my poorly phrased previous paragraph, I will explain what a P.O.O.P group is, lest anyone get the WRONG idea. It stands for “Pounds Off Or Pay” and is an 8 week competition. You are supposed to lose 1 pound a week (or everyone in your group owes $1), you get points for drinking water, exercising, and eating fruits and vegetables. You don’t have to tell anyone about your starting weight. You don’t have to tell anyone what you ate in addition to the above mentioned good things. You also don’t have to tell anyone your ending weight – just the pounds you did or didn’t lose. We also do not come together to meet, weigh-in, or do anything else. And it is all word of honor – we email our results at the end of each week, the money is collected twice during the 8 weeks, and the team with the most points at the end, divides the spoils amongst themselves.

I’m sorry that you are sick…and I’m glad that you explained! : )
Comment by Melissa January 15, 2008 @ 8:09 pmI would be afraid of getting people mad at me in a group like that if I didn’t lose the pounds.
How do you join this group?
Comment by MarysMom February 4, 2008 @ 2:42 amI need something to get me to lose pounds. The more I try to lose, the more I GAIN, instead. Something’s gotta change.
Glad to see you’re back blogging.
